An essential part of maintaining many services offered at zero cost to users, ads often come as an essential mechanism of products on the market, which does not mean that they are loved by people.
Xiaomi, for example, offers MIUI full of them. It is undeniable that China’s proprietary interface has its many advantages, but one downside of it is the exaggerated display of advertising pieces in native apps and parts of the system.
Well, it seems that a mea-culpa will be made soon: via Weibo, Chinese social network, the company positioned itself promising a reduction in the display of ads. This is a news that should arrive in the next three months with an update. The negative repercussion of this practice led her to revise this policy, and many spaces in which ads are now displayed will soon be free of them.
Some places where they pop up are in the app’s memory cleaner after a run, just like in the Themes app. Sometimes even a full-screen advertisement may come up today.
The new MIUI update may also provide a control tool for the user to configure what kind of advertisement will be offered.
At the beginning of the year, the company announced that its low profit (5%) policy would be reviewed at least in the Mi products . Apparently the impact of this decision will not be so negative, since in return the consumer may be less bombarded with advertisements in the SO.
How about you, what did you think of this company announcement? Do you have a Xiaomi smartphone and the ads bother you, or do they go unnoticed in general? Tell us in the comments!
