The market for smartphones dedicated to gaming has grown considerably in recent years. The continued efforts of brands such as Asus, Razer, Xiaomi, and soon also Qualcomm contribute to this.
A new Digitimes report states that American Qualcomm wants to launch a gaming smartphone with its brand. The first model of its kind is expected to be presented later this year and will feature the Snapdragon 875 processor.
Qualcomm will have the help of Asus in its new adventure
Since Qualcomm is a brand known for the development of semiconductors, it is natural to come to the rescue of another company with a proven track record in smartphone development. And according to the report, Asus was the chosen partner for this adventure.

The two companies will work closely together on this new project. Apparently, Asus will be in charge of the design and development of hardware. Qualcomm will now be in charge of “industrial design” and software optimization that will run with the Snapdragon 875.
Additionally, companies will share components, which means that the next ROG Phone will have several similarities to Qualcomm’s new product. This partnership is expected to result in the development of one million devices, divided equally between them.
That said, there are not many more details that we can say about this topic. Issues such as specifications and other details will be the subject of other articles.
As for its launch, Qualcomm’s gaming smartphone should not hit the market until sometime in the first quarter of 2021. At which point we usually start seeing the first devices equipped with Qualcomm’s latest top processor on the market.
