It ran on October 6, 2010, and one of the most popular social networks of the decade was launched – Instagram. This would only become effectively popular a few years later, with the already mythical ‘Polaroid’ icon being the hallmark.
This logo would later be abandoned by its owner (Facebook), to make way for the gradient that has already become standard. But in order to celebrate its 10th anniversary, Instagram has prepared a hidden secret, which allows you to return to the old logo (and much more).
How to activate Instagram’s 10th anniversary Polaroid logo:
- Update your Instagram app to the latest version
- Open the app and click on the three dashes in the upper right corner
- Click on ‘Settings’
- Drag down like your life depends on it
- Choose from over 10 available logos
“To celebrate our anniversary, this month we invite you to change your app icon to your favorite icon below. Thank you for being part of our story and for using Instagram to share yours ”, you can read in the app’s message.
Novelty still only works on iOS. At least for now
It is worth mentioning that I tested this possibility on both Android and iOS. But only on the iPhone was I able to access the panoply of logos available in this anniversary edition of Instagram. Not even with an update the novelty was available on the social network, so it remains to be seen whether it will become available in the coming days.
