The list of joint witnesses filed by the federal courts shows that dozens of senior executives and engineers are expected to testify in court. Cook is one of them. The file shows that Cook is expected to testify on Apple’s business strategy, financial performance and agreements with other technology companies.
The jury trial, scheduled for April 15th, may be a decisive battle for global competition between the two technology companies for two years. Apple will challenge Qualcomm’s patent licensing method, and Qualcomm will try to recover the patent fees that Apple and Asian manufacturers will stop paying in 2017.
Apple’s witnesses may include former hardware director Bob Mansfield, chief operating officer Jeff Williams, marketing director Phil Schiller, and former general counsel Bruce Sewell.
The list of witnesses shows that Qualcomm president Cristiano Amon and company co-founders Irwin Jacobs and Foxconn Asian manufacturers and other smart phone makers such as Samsung Electronics Co. will also testify in court.
