Notch is not one of the details most loved by iPhone users. However, until new ways to implement the sensors necessary for the proper operation of Face ID, this interruption on the screen will not disappear.
The positive side of this scenario is that Apple is ready to reduce the size of the notch on the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro. The information is advanced by John Prosser, who says that the American company has already finished the design of its next smartphones.
2020 will bring four iPhones
The image above was shared by Prosser and shows us what the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro will look like. These illustrations demonstrate that the reduction in notch will not be very pronounced. In fact, the difference for the current models will be tenuous, but it is a step in the right direction.
This reduction may not have been entirely due to an aesthetic issue. As we saw in the morning, Apple is preparing to add a LIDAR lens to the iPhone 12 Pro, totaling four sensors at the rear.
These take up space inside the device and this may have forced Apple to reduce the space occupied by the Face ID sensors. I don’t think that the non-Pro models will receive the LIDAR sensor, but Apple will want an aesthetic standardization in all its new products.
It is curious to note that the image shared by John Prosser mentions four new iPhone. The novelty will be the addition of the iPhone 12 with a 5.4 inch screen. Both iPhone 12s must transition to OLED screens; which is an excellent improvement.
All four iPhone 12 will have 5G connectivity
There is no doubt that 5G is the future of mobile connectivity and although many sites are not yet prepared for it, brands are starting to invest heavily in technology. This year, several brands have chosen to launch all their new equipment compatible with these networks and Apple will be one more.
According to what is advanced, all four iPhone 12 will be compatible with the new mobile networks. This data contradicts some previous rumors, which realized that the 5G could appear in “special” versions of the equipment.
This must be justified by the new Apple A14 processor, which may have native support for 5G networks. As with the Snapdragon 865, this could increase your production cost and, consequently, increase the public sale price of the new iPhone 12 even further.
